Meet Kathy Cox

Kathy Cox is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Registered Art Therapist, and Licensed Massage Therapist with a career spanning decades of service, healing, and education. She has practiced since 1987 and has built a professional path that blends counseling, art therapy, trauma-informed support, addiction recovery work, and experiential healing approaches.

Kathy earned her Master’s degree from Northern Illinois University, where she specialized in Art Therapy. Over the years, she has continued to expand her training in areas including EMDR, addictions, Employee Assistance Program services, Jungian coaching, psychedelic-informed education through the International Psychedelic Institute, and Neo Shamanic Breathwork.

Kathy’s Approach

Kathy’s work is shaped by both professional training and lived experience. Her path into counseling was influenced by personal loss, family recovery experiences, and her own journey toward healing and meaning. That background helps her bring empathy, steadiness, and authenticity to the people she serves.

She remains deeply interested in experiential therapy and in approaches that help clients move beyond insight alone. Her work may draw from creativity, reflection, emotional processing, body awareness, and deeper inner exploration, depending on the needs and goals of the individual.
